Dr. Denise Liu

General Dentist

Dr. Denise Liu grew up in the sunny state of Arizona. Her education, training, and work to become a dentist moved her around a lot, but now she has returned to the valley to start her family and establish roots. She graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s degree in Physiology with magna cum laude distinction. She then earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania in 2014 with Honors in Clinical Dentistry and Honors in Community Outreach. Continuing her education, she underwent further training by completing a general practice residency at the VA West Los Angeles Medical Center, where she had the privilege of treating veterans with complex dental needs. While working in private practice in Los Angeles, she partnered with an obstetrics clinic to work with patients on managing their oral health during pregnancy.

Dr. Liu’s primary goal is to provide meaningful experiences for her patients and bring healthier smiles to the community.  Dentistry has allowed her to get to know her patients and their families over time, which is something she truly loves.  She values every patient she treats and takes pride in empowering them to take control of their oral health. She is committed to providing the highest quality of dental care to her patients and keeps herself updated with the latest techniques and technologies. When she’s not in the office, Dr. Liu enjoys spending time with her family, cooking with her Dad, and getting stronger in the gym. She also isn’t afraid to admit that she has a sweet tooth and loves indulging in sweet treats.

Sheilagh Murray

Hygienist

Sheilagh Murray was born and raised in The San Francisco Bay Area, but for the past twenty-five years she and her family have made Phoenix home.  Sheilagh has been involved in dentistry from a young age.  Her first high school job was as a dental assistant.  Her dental assisting career followed her through college at Brigham Young University.   As her children left home she realized how much she missed dentistry, science and learning.  In 2010, she went back to college and earned a degree in Applied Science and completed her licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist.  Sheilagh finds great fulfillment in the relationships she builds with her wonderful patients.  Sheilagh and Scott enjoy traveling internationally, hiking, photography, studying art and European history.  Their favorite activity is spending as much time as they can with their grown children, and nine beautiful grandchildren.  Life is very busy and incredibly fulfilling!

Jessa Siekmann

Dental Hygienist

Jessa Siekmann is an Arizona native who lives in central Phoenix with her husband and their two golden retrievers, Wyatt and Gryffin. She has been in the dental field for 13 years—10 of those as a dental assistant—before fulfilling her long-time goal of becoming a Registered Dental Hygienist.

She values building strong rapport and enjoys educating patients on how to achieve and maintain optimal oral and systemic health. Passionate about modern science and continuing education, she stays current with the latest research and advances so she can share the best, most up-to-date information with those she cares for.

Outside of the office, Jessa enjoys hiking, trying new restaurants around the Valley, spending time with family and friends, and getting in a good workout at the gym.

She is thrilled to join Uptown Smiles and is excited to make it her long-term dental home, where she looks forward to forming lasting relationships and providing exceptional care to the community!
